3.1.6. The soaking-up collector

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Merge cooling liquid so that level became below the soaking-up collector.
3. On injector engines disconnect a big hose from a throttle branch pipe. For expansion of working space it is recommended to remove the air filter with an air duct.
4. On carburetor engines remove the air filter.
5. Disconnect hoses of cooling liquid from the soaking-up collector and a throttle branch pipe.
6. Disconnect cables of a butterfly valve and a cruise control (see subsection 6.5).
7. Remove the recirculation valve with a tube.
8. On the M40 engine turn off bolts and nuts.
9. Remove the top part of the soaking-up collector.
10. Remove laying.
11. On injector engines disconnect from the fuel pressure regulator a vacuum hose and sockets from nozzles.
12. Disconnect from the carburetor (or the fuel distributor) fuel hoses.
13. On the M40 engine remove a collector rack.
14. Disconnect other wires and hoses from the soaking-up collector and a throttle branch pipe.
15. Turn off bolts / nut of fastening of a collector.
16. Begin to turn off with peripheral sites, being displaced to the middle, turn off gradually until bolts / nut can be turned out by hand.
17. Remove the soaking-up collector, shaking to destroy consolidation.
18. Remove laying of the soaking-up collector on the M40 engine.

Prevention

The collector can be removed assembled with a throttle branch pipe, nozzles, vacuum distributors and temperature regulators, the regulator of pressure of fuel or the carburetor. When replacing a collector rearrange the specified units.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Carefully clear the demountable planes of a collector and a head of cylinders.
2. Check existence on a collector of cracks, a buckling of the plane and other damages. As a rule, cracks and a buckling are observed on a laying prileganiye surface, around openings under hairpins. In this case the collector is ground or changes.
3. Establish new laying which has to be turned by a graphite surface to a head of cylinders on the collector.
4. Establish a collector and wrap bolts and nuts, tighten them with the set moment, from the center to the periphery in a cross order.
5. Other operations are carried out upside-down. On the M40 engine replace laying of both sections of a collector.
